A new education program rises, now, it is time for the new Policy Guidelines on Awards and Recognition for the K to 12 Basic Education Program to shine.
As the implementation of Republic Act No. 10533, also known as Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 (K to 12 Law), DepEd complies with new and improved Policy Guidelines for it, it is the DepEd Order No. 36. This order aims to formally recognize the outstanding performance and achievement of learners in academics, leadership, and social responsibility among other aspects of students’ progress and development.
The order is mainly about giving awards to encourage learners to strive for excellence and become proactive members of the school and community. It must be implemented this school year and all schools must do it.
A big yes for every student because the awards are not only for academics nor the top 10 students but also for the students who will stand out in the classroom, grade level, and in competitions. They will receive classroom awards, grade level awards, and special recognitions.
A big yes because it is not only academics who will be recognized but also other aspects.
A big yes because there can be 2 or more awardees for every category. But if there is no qualified learner, awards shall not be given.
A big yes once more because all of your hard work will be appreciated.
A big yes again because there are no more Top 10 students but instead it is Academic Excellence Award. Whereby there will be no specific number as long as they will pass the 94-100 percent of the grade.
A very big yes because there will be more awards and more chances of being recognized.
