We are fond of believing in fairy tales. It will start once upon a time and happened far far away. There is a king, a queen, and a princess. A castle and a kingdom. There is some twist in the story. A villain appeared and messed everything up. A prince will come, saving the damsel in distress. They fell in love and they lived happily ever after. The end.
Remember when we are young ones when life is like a fairy tale; perfect and magical. But as childhood fades reality strikes us, showing that life is not a magical land full of happiness. There is pain, sadness, grief, and anger.
I thought that I live in a fairy tale. A wonderful land with my palace. A land without blood and tears but I was wrong. This is not a fairy tale and I am not Cinderella.
It is not always a happy and enchanting experience. There is no magic. Fairy godmother doesn’t show and fix everything up. It is not always sunny and joyous days. A prince will not show after all to save her princess.
Life isn’t a fairytale. Life is a big journey with those beasts and evil creatures to pin down. Life is a large battle arena, not a large and fascinating castle.
Once upon a time, I dream of being Cinderella. Now, let me say that I will not be Cinderella anymore, instead, I’ll be the traveler that will find my journey to my happily ever after.
