"Jailed"

A Feature Article

By: Allyson Jane Cruz

It is not about you loving me, it is about me sacrificing and changing myself just for you.

Staring up in the sky. Gazing for the star that will answer my long-time prayers. The clock is ticking, time is wasting. Waiting for the precious moment of 11:11. Revealing the longing and desires of my heart.

I am fascinated by your smiles, enchanted by your presence. I am captivated by your beauty. I’m a slave of my love. I am in a handcuff which I don’t want to break. I’m in a jail which I love staying. Is it a crime loving you? I am fallen; deep and rooted.

Crossing bridges to reach your love. Surpassing obstacles just to be with you. Stretching arms to get the star just for you. Willing to give everything, exchange of nothing. Changing myself to fit in your demand. Loving you with all of me.

“If you’re not ready to die every day, don’t fall in love.” When you welcome love, be ready with the pain. It will knock on your personality and try to destroy everything on you.

How I wish you love me the way I do. How I wish you could set me free from the jail of loving you.
